General terms and conditions

We are Borg Electronics Ltd, a company registered in England - number 5006051, Enterprise Court, Downmill Road, BRACKNELL, and you are the person making use of this web site and service.

We have tried to make these terms as clear as possible, and welcome any feedback you have on them. We may change these terms if we wish by updating this web site. If you do not like these terms, or changes we have made, you are welcome to stop using the site and/or delete any accounts you have with us. If you carry on using the site we assume you agree to these terms.

The purpose of this web site is to allow vehicle owners to keep information about their vehicles, such as service history. Having this information available can be useful when selling a vehicle or getting an insurance quote, etc.

We allow an owner to upload images as well as scans or pictures of documents and a variety of other information about their vehicles. The owner can then make this available if they wish - such as posting a link on social media or an advert for selling the vehicle, or just to show their friends the details of their vehicle.

Visitors

When viewing information about a car it is important to realise that all of the information we present is “user provided”. We do not vet, moderate or check the information in any way. As such, if you are a prospective purchaser (for example) you must consider that the information could be incomplete, incorrect or even fraudulent - images could have been edited. You should treat this very much like a handful of photocopies given to you when looking at the car, and consider whatever checks you wish to make. We cannot even vouch for the person we present as the “owner” of the vehicle actually being the owner, or keeper, or entitled to sell the vehicle. We are simply storing and presenting the information we have been given. Do not blame us if that information is not complete or correct.

Account holders

You can create a login to this site as a vehicle owner. Once logged in you can upload information relating to your vehicles, make changes, delete information, and choose to publish information (e.g. using a “sharing link”).

You must take responsibility for ensuring that any password, or other security measures we deploy, are kept secure and not disclosed to third parties such that they could impersonate you. You must use the change password function promptly to set a new password if you believe your password has been disclosed.

We expect you to only upload information for vehicles that you effectively own or have control of. We expect you to take all reasonable efforts to ensure the information you provide is accurate. We expect you to only upload images, scans, and information that is relevant to the car. You must not upload illegal or offensive material. Whilst we do not moderate the information you upload, we may view information you have uploaded and we may remove any information or images at any time if we wish. We may also delete an account if we wish.

You may opt to transfer a vehicle to another owner. When you do this, you relinquish all control over the information we have relating to that vehicle and give full control to the new owner. It is up to you to remove any information you do not wish to transfer before transferring the vehicle.

Whilst we make every effort to ensure the service is available at all times, and that we do not lose information we have provided, we offer this service as a free service and limit our liability to the full extent allowed by law even in the event of our negligence, sorry.

You are expected to either own the copyright in images and information you provide (e.g. you took the picture), or have permission from the copyright holder for the image or information to be given to us and used by us. We may delete images or information as we see fit, which includes cases where we are advised of copyright infringement.

We take privacy seriously and we consider that the owner, i.e. the person with the correct login details for the owner account on the site, has control over the information relating to themselves and their vehicles. We do not sell or provide your personal information to anyone else without your permission.

However, there are services we provide, such as reminders of MOT, etc, were we will contact you using the contact information you have provided. We will not, however, use these details to send you unsolicited marketing communications. We may offer an opt-in newsletter with news about services we are offering.

We may include advertising on the web pages, including advertising targeted at you (such as advertising for a a local MOT centre when your MOT is nearly due) but do not provide details to the advertiser in such cases. It is up to you to choose to share your vehicle information with a dealer / workshop if you wish.

We may make use of third party services such as google analytics, and google maps, and use of such services may inherently mean some data is shared with those providers in accordance with their privacy policies and terms. We expect that this would not involve sharing information that can identify you directly.

We have separate terms for dealers, workshops and advertisers. Dealers are able to upload information relating to a vehicle, but not to see information unless you allow it or send them a link to view the information.
